Once upon a time there were 15 republics in the Soviet Union from 1956 until its collapse in 1991. When the Soviet Union was dissolved, they each became independent countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan.
Our Multicultural Festival brought together a rich diversity of cultural heritages, represented by ethnic and community groups living together in British Columbia. The communities presented a kaleidoscope of the ethnic food, folklore, costumes, live concerts of local and out of the province performers of their country of origin as well as displayed, arts and crafts, souvenirs, market place and much more.
